Kaspersky Lab Loses Another Customer, This Time In The UK Government POLICIES

We all know very well that Kaspersky is one of the best-known security companies, its antivirus is one of the most used and, in addition, it is one of the best note obtained in the various security tests. However, now after the US, now Kaspersky Lab loses another customer and this time it is the UK government.

Kaspersky is one of the best-known security companies, its antivirus is one of the most used and, in addition, it is one of the best note obtained in the various security tests, such as AV-Test. However, this security company is lately involved in a series of scandals about alleged computer surveillance that has provided data to the Russian government (where Kaspersky is based), which is making more and more countries, governments and organizations distrust this security firm.

This summer, last August, we told you how the FBI was making a boycott of Kaspersky and trying to stop the companies from using it due to a series of secret documents of the CIA and the NSA that, for “unknown” reasons came to hand of the Russian government.

There are still many doubts about the means by which these documents came into the hands of the Russian government, but whether intentionally or unintentionally, Kaspersky has already confirmed that it collected files from the computers it analyzed, without being threats, that were sent to its own servers to review them manually.

In addition to the FBI, several stores, such as Best Buy, eliminated the sales of this antivirus precisely alleging the reasons for the alleged spying that the Russian security firm was carrying out against users who had their antivirus installed.

Little by little, more and more people are against this security firm and are carrying out a boycott against it. A few hours ago, the United Kingdom joined the list of countries that are against this security firm on suspicion of espionage, and in a letter published by the British government, any government organization, such as banks, is obliged to do so.

Everything, from national cyberdefense, to eliminate both Kaspersky and any other software of Russian origin. At no time is it prohibited for users to use this security software, although it is recommended to exercise extreme caution with this (and other) cloud-based software.

Unlike the United States, where the FBI wants to ban the use of Kaspersky, in the case of the United Kingdom, it is not a prohibition, but a simple recommendation to “not use it”, at least for the moment, while they are carried out the corresponding audits that seek to clean the image of the Russian security firm.

As we have said several times, Kaspersky is one of the best antiviruses we can find for our computer systems, or at least that is what AV-Test has just shown in its latest tests, and it is one of the best that will protect us from the constant computer threats that threaten our network security, so if you are a user of this antivirus software and you are thinking of uninstalling it, we recommend not to do so at the moment.

The reasons why the United States prohibits the use of Kaspersky, stores eliminate it from their catalogues and the United Kingdom recommends not using it, mainly politicians. As we have explained, everything originated as a series of secret documents from the United States arrived at the hands of the Russian government, documents that put the country’s computer security in check (and detailed how to attack Russian computer networks). However, although Kaspersky is the main suspect, it has not yet been proven that it was the culprit.

In addition, the company is carrying out a campaign with which it intends to clean its name and image and, for this reason, has decided to open its source code to auditing companies that, in addition to helping to detect and eliminate possible weaknesses, help demonstrate that its code is clean and it does not hide anything that can be used for espionage purposes.

So, what do you think about the boycott that several countries are carrying out against Kaspersky? Simply share all your views and thoughts in the comment section below.
